about

"Listen to the Silence" is what I try to do everyday in my life and music. All of the selections have to do with clearing the mind and focussing on the 'now' in order to enjoy the present moment.

The titles of the first set of pieces (tracks 1-7) comes from Thich Nhat Hanh's poem "The song of the practice". The second set "Listen to the Silence" (track 8-11) is the advice a good friend of mine gave me when I was feeling troubled. The third is a set of improvisations on the beauty of the morning (track 12-15) and the fourth set is about the glory of some of my favourite trees (16-23). For the final track (24) I have placed a differently edited version of "Listen to the Silence" than in track 9 so that the listener can choose which version is preferable in their listening to the silence.

The recordings were made on my own piano which at the time of the recordings was tuned to A=435hz and then I have converted the recordings to A=432hz which I believe is the best frequency for healthy and natural listening.
